My life started out on a small island called Lasqueti Island. It’s nested between the mainland of British Columbia and Vancouver Island.
Lasqueti Island only has a few hundred resistances. The island has no public utilities.
My parents have shellfish farm where they grow specialized mussels called the Honey Mussel.
As with most children of farmers you are expected to help out. Every Sunday was a work day harvesting the order for the week, and summer time was to ready the new set juvenile mussels to be eventually harvested years later.
When I attended university dug manila clams to pay for my expanses. Each summer I would thousands of pounds.
